branching out

As I've said before, I have wanted to try out something new. Well guess what... I have finally plucked up the courage to try oil painting. With brand new oils in the draw and two untouched canvases in the corner of my room and after a lengthy amount of time of waiting, I thought maybe it's time to move on from digital design / photo-manipulation.

So here it is, my first ever oil painting! (In progress)

It might take a while for me to finish since it takes ages as hell to dry, but I'll post it up again when it's done.

back to blog again

It has been quite some time since I’ve written my last post, and since there are quite a few things to talk about, I think its time to let you get updated. Firstly, the next major big thing is the launch night of a friend’s next feature film, soon to be made, called ‘Love You Too’. Hosted at Waster inside envy in the Liquid & Envy club on March 5th, which by the way, we hold an unlimited guestlist :s.

Secondly, I have started up an Art group and am eager to get it on the move, with only 3 main people in it, I’m hoping to get more people involved. At the moment I need a photographer, painter, creative writer and a web-designer, desperately and preferably with great knowledge in html. Everyone involved will work voluntarily and the aim is to work together to create collaborative pieces of exciting work and help provide art work for local projects, ie. Artwork for bands, poster work for events and campaigns. I got a website up but it's nothing special... www.niveusart.com and a facebook group.

Thirdly, I have finished an edit of my friend’s short film and will be taking the time to burn and produce a few DVD’s of it and use the opportunity to attach the Niveusart showreel to it.

This is a draft DVD cover put together by Oliver Bowie and I, a first main project to launch Niveusart Association into recognition.

That is all for now, and remember, if you or anyone you know who might be keen to be involved, give us a shout or simply contact info@niveusart.co.uk

Peace,

Joe
